Occasionally Tim and I host a “Persona Potluck”. At these dinners the food, and not the people, are in persona -- each person brings one or more dishes that are representative of their persona’s culture.
We aren’t very strict about the time period or the ingredients, as long as it provides an example of the tastes that that culture experienced. The point is to give everyone another “sense” of what the Middle Ages were like.
The dinner is a very SCA-like experience in that all the tastes from different times and cultures somehow fit together perfectly -- sometimes dishes from 2 cultures are even better combined than they were separate!
