Madelena's favorite cornbread recipe ... easy and quick to prepare.
Best served warm with butter melting into it!
Ingredients:1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2/3 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup cornmeal
1 tbsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/4 cups half-and-half
2 large eggs, lightly beaten
1/3 cup vegetable oil
3 tbsp butter or margarine, melted
Optional Ingredient:If you like peppers ... you can add jalapenos:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Combine all ingredients.
Pour into a greased and floured 9 x 9 baking pan.
Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into bread comes out clean.
